Hello everyone, and welcome to my website. It’s taken me a while to get this site setup, but I decided it was high time I got myself a web presence beyond the confines of my YouTube channel.
So let’s start with a word about who I am and what I do. I’ve been a Linux Desktop user now for more than 16 years, and I decided some time ago to launch a YouTube channel dedicated to all things Linux. I try not to confine myself to any particular category, but rather publish videos about the various Linux related topics I find interesting.
My videos include reviews of Linux Distros, news and debates, technical “how to” topics and, of course, my rambles! On the subject of my rambles, well you either love them or hate them. I’m afraid I’m never going to produce 15 minute videos where I throw out a handful of quick facts or assertions. But rather, my videos take the form of an exploration of a particular topic, and I take my viewers along for the ride.
In many ways this website has been created to mirror what I produce as a YouTube content creator, and it is in no way a technical support site. However, as a platform it will give me the opportunity to expand on my videos by writing relevant blog posts and, where necessary, providing a little more detail than is possible in the videos.
This site will no doubt go through many changes in the coming weeks and months as I develop it. In the short term you can expect to see blog posts, links to OldTechBloke merchandise, and of course my videos.
